Provost’s welcome

As Provost of South Ayrshire, I am honoured to welcome the 38th Joint Ayr Concert Series to Ayr Town Hall, and very pleased to report that five concerts are planned, up from four the last two years.

There is so much vision and hard work involved for the volunteers who work tirelessly to bring these wonderful concerts to Ayr, and I’d like to record my grateful thanks and appreciation to everyone involved. This series includes a concert by The Orchestra of Scottish Opera which will include 30 young musicians from South Ayrshire Schools who will join TOSO on stage to play in the final piece.

We are also pleased to welcome back the nine musicians of the Chamber Philharmonic Europe who will play standing in Holy Trinity Episcopal Church; the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra in November; and the Gordon Cree Orchestra will bring the very popular Christmas Classics 2026 on 17th December. January 5th sees the Scottish Chamber Orchestra playing their annual Viennese New Year concert.

As we welcome these very popular events to our Town Hall, I’d encourage you to book your tickets early to avoid disappointment.
